

Parameters:
Read some or all of the readings posted- and linked below this post in the main Moodle course page. Then address the following topic in an essay of about 3-5 pages (800-1500 words). It must be double-spaced, 11-12 point font. I would prefer to have it typed and emailed or shared in Word365, but if necessary a clear, well-lit, high-resolution (full size) picture of each page, written neatly in dark blue or black ink, will work. Please include a list of your sources and identify which information is from which source in your writing.
Topic:
Describe the relationship between Jews and Christians in mediaeval Europe, and account for it as best you can. Do your best to give a nuanced and balanced response that considers historical perspectives and ethics, is based on the sources, and is fair to all concerned.
Rubric (30 possible marks):
Response: Does the essay address the topic clearly and effectively? (5 marks)
Rationale: Does the essay consider historical perspectives and ethics in a way that is reasonable and fair? (10 marks)
Sources: Does the essay make good use of the available sources, and give credit for ideas drawn from them? (10 marks)
Technical Aspects: Does the essay show good spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills (or editing)? Does the writing flow well, making the essay easy and enjoyable to read? (5 marks)
