Much has been written both in favor and against the new DSM-5 classification system of psychopathology. Some of the more popular topics have included discussion around diagnostic overlap, cultural biases, validity/reliability, the removal of certain diagnoses from the DSM-5, etc. Discuss in your paper what you think some of the pros and cons of the DSM are or that you have seen in your professional practice. You can research and review some professional academic articles (i.e. journal articles, articles form professional organizations, textbook, etc.) and incorporate that information into your paper; however, make sure you are citing your sources and references appropriately. Remember that research in this class is defined as peer-reviewed, professional journals (no informational websites/wikis, blogs, University notes, popular magazines, etc.).
