Write research paper on increasing minimum wage
Intro: The introduction will appear on the third page of your document, not on the same page as your abstract.
For a three-page essay, it should be no more than 1/4 to 1/2page in length.
The introduction accomplishes two things:
BODY PARAGRAPHS:
The first three body paragraphs will be your supporting points.
The topic sentences will come from the topics in your thesis statement.
Use paraphrasing to add information you found from the LSCS Library database, Procon.org, and “In the Minimum Wage Debate, Both Sides Make Valid Points.”
Add in-text citations to document your paraphrases.
Writing the Opposing Argument:
Write a 2-3 sentence summary of an opposing argument.
Use information, personal commentary, logic, to counter the argument.
Use words such as “opponents,” “critics,” etc. in your topic sentence.
Acknowledge your opponents’ argument and then state your information.
CONCLUSION: The conclusion will be the place where you first repeat your thesis statement using different words.
You will then highlight key points from the first three body paragraphs (3-4 sentences)
The last two sentences should then indicate what you think will happen if Congress does not act on your suggestions immediately.
