Instructions:
PART 1 – Analysis of a bullying resource website
Many resources are available for teachers to help them address bullying in schools.
1. Select a bullying resource website for teachers. Provide the name of the website and its web address.
2. Identify and explain four strengths and two weaknesses of the website. Explain why you believe each individual component is a strength or a weakness.
3. Would you recommend this website to your peers? Why?Why not?
PART 2 – Creation of your own personal bullying resource
As a teacher, you are responsible to address and stop bullying. Yet, it may seem like a challenging task. For this part of your video lab, you are being asked to design your own bullying resource for yourself and, potentially, other teachers. Your resource should be focused on new teachers, like you, to (a) understand bullying better, (b) efficiently address bullying situations with students, (c) know when and how to intervene competently when needed, and (d) actively keep all their stakeholders safe at school.
1. What would you include in your bullying resource? Why?
• You must provide at least five distinct components.
• You must provide a short description of each component (3–4 lines).
• You must explain why each individual component would be included.
• Always keep in mind your target audience (primarily yourself, then other teachers).
2. Why do you think your resource would help you and, potentially, other teachers to prevent bullying?
PART 3 – Reflection
Write a one-to-two-page reflection that focuses on the topic of bullying:
1. What is your role as a teacher to prevent and stop bullying?
2. Why is it your role as a teacher to prevent and stop bullying?
This assignment will be evaluated based on its content and the quality of the writing. You should demonstrate critical thinking skills by providing insightful ideas. Your ideas should be focused, coherent, and well organized. The tone should be professional and grammatical errors should be kept to a minimum.
Further, the formatting of your paper should be professional and follow the American Psychological Association Publication Manual, 7th edition (APA 7) guidelines. For instance, you should use 2.54 cm standard margins, 12-point font, and Times New Roman font. The written text of the assignment should also bedouble-spaced and include a page number in the top right corner of each page. A cover page is necessary for this assignment.
Thus, you will create a title page, a one-to-two-page review of a bullying resource website (part 1), a one-to-two-page description of your bullying resource (part 2), and a one-to-two-page reflection on the role of the teacher with regards to bullying.
