Draw on our study on “Making Decisions in Business Ethics” (Lecture 4), write a business case study report (1) to analyse at least one of the individual factors and at least one of the situational factors, which played important roles in the ethical decision making process, in the context of this case; and (2) to illustrate, if the focus of the situational factor(s) have been changed, how they would result in different decisions.
The case chosen should reflect at least ONE context, among the following areas which have been studied from Lecture 5 to 8: (1) shareholders and Business Ethics (hereafter as BE), (2) employees and BE, (3) consumers and BE, (4) suppliers, competitors and BE, (5) government, regulation and BE, (6) Civil Society and BE. Your arguments and analysis should be supported by theoretical and empirical findings and cite properly. It is strongly suggested to use the seminar readings and discussion activities to guide your analysis and writing.
Structural Requirement for the Individual Report:
The Individual Report should follow the structure as below:
1. Introduction [Brief the case and the context of it and highlight what decision(s) have been made.]
2. Individual Factor [What individual factor(s) you would like to analyse, which you consider play important roles in the decision making process of this case? Support your arguments and analysis with theoretical and empirical evidences and cite properly.]
3. Situational Factor [What situational factor(s) you would like to analyse, which you consider play important roles in the decision making process of this case? Support your arguments and analysis with theoretical and empirical evidences and cite properly.]
4. The Differences [Illustrate, if the focus of the situational factor(s) have been changed, how they would result in different decisions.]
5. Conclusions [Summarise the case and highlight your understanding on the ethical decision making process.]
6. References
