Description
This essay has a two-part focus:
1. Part One: You must state the meaning and principles of reconciliation — see chapters 4 and 5 of Curtiss Paul DeYoung’s Reconciliation: God’s Timeless Call to Justice, Healing, and Transformation. (2 FULL pages)
2. Part Two: How can TWO* of the following practices encourage connection between individuals and/or communities and promote reconciliation? (9 FULL pages)
(1) Engaging in Self-Examination
(2) Participating in Fear+Less Dialogues
(3) Learning from those experiencing socio-economic poverty* You MUST engage with
point three in your paper.

2.1.2. When answering Part Two of this assignment you must engage with AT LEAST THREE of the works featured in point 2.1 of this document.

2.1.4. You can examine the works listed in point 2.1. more than once in Part Two of this assignment. 2.1.5. You can engage with DeYoung’s book in Part Two of this assignment.
Guidelines
1. You must NOT select an example that you have referenced in your previous assignments for this course.
2. Rather than answering each question separately from the others, the three parts should flow together as a connected whole. You must write in the third person voice and follow the academic conventions of creating an analytical essay. To this end, you must produce a cohesive thesis, write an introduction, produce clear paragraphs, and establish a concise conclusion. Your thesis statement must be reflected through the entire essay. Additional criteria to observe can be found below.
3. Do not write out the questions in the body of your paper.
4. Do not use large blocks of quotes that are more than three sentences long to support your perspective. You MUST paraphrase whenever possible.
• All papers in the class are to be typed, checked for spelling, and observe citation accuracy. Students can choose from APA, Chicago, or MLA when citing sources.
• All papers must use 1.5 OR double spacing and a 12-point font type.
• Include a bibliography/citation page at the end of the paper. This requirement is not included in the page count for this assignment.
• Your paper must be typed in the THIRD PERSON. DO NOT WRITE IN THE FIRST-PERSON VOICE.
