For this assignment you will need to read and write about the factors that impact the health indicator in your country of choice. You will more than likely use information collected in Assignment 2 as well. While you may use websites, you will also need to explore your country and health indicator in peer-reviewed journals. Please use at least two peer-reviewed journals to support your information.
Risk Factors A risk factor is any attribute, characteristic or exposure of an individual that increases the likelihood of developing a disease or injury. Some examples of the more important risk factors are underweight, unsafe sex, high blood pressure, tobacco and alcohol consumption, and unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene. (WHO)
Determinants of health The determinants of health include the social, economic, and physical environment in which people live. These factors include income, social class, education, social support, living conditions, gender/sex, access to health services, and other conditions in which people work and live. Determinants of health also include genetics and individual behaviors. https://www.who.int/hia/evidence/doh/en/ (Links to an external site.)
You will summarize what you learn using the following required format:
I. Identify Risk Factors: (4 points) Restate your country and health indicator. Identify the risk factors associated with your health indicator. Identify the most vulnerable segments of the population relative to the indicator. Explain why this is true—this is based on what you have read and what you can infer from the current situation in the country.
II. Identify the Determinants of Health Identify the determinants of health (including social determinants) that have the greatest impact on your health indicator and most vulnerable population. This will include summarizing what you have read and learned as well as your own understanding of these factors.
III. Your assessment of the issue
What are the needs and priorities of your population?
What do we know about the health issue in terms of what causes it and who is most affected? What is the evidence for this? How does the evidence apply across different population groups?
What are the determinants of health that contribute to the health issue? What are the causes of the causes?
What could be changed to impact the health issue? What are the priorities?
IV. Resources
At least two peer-reviewed articles must be used for this assignment. Websites are also useful. You must use APA citation format.
1. Briefly state your country, the health indicator you chose, and the priority population (if any) you are researching (3 points) China is located in eastern Asia and is the most populous country in the world. However, stroke is the number one killer ravaging China and the number one cause of life loss in China. Every year, 1.96 million Chinese die from a stroke, and one stroke occurs every 12 seconds in China, and only 10% of patients receive rehabilitation treatment.
II. Create a table of the health measures that are relevant to your topic. These will include most of these but you may need more. (15 points)
Incidence of stroke
Stroke mortality
DALYs for all communicable diseases
Life expectancy
Stroke risk

70-95:13.4%
Based on the statistics, does age, etc. establish a link between these and the prevalence, etc.? Please discuss these issues.
With the increase of age, the incidence of stroke in the elderly is also increasing. In hemorrhagic stroke, the majority of patients are 50-60 years old; subarachnoid hemorrhage is mostly young. It is worth noting that the mortality rate of stroke also increases with age. From the perspective of gender, stroke patients are more men than women, and the ratio of men to women is about 1.3 to 1.5.
III. Discuss what you have learned about the burden and distribution and link it to the health indicator you chose. Is there a connection? or not? (7 points) Who is most affected and who is not? Is there a disparity?窗体底端
I feel that with the aging of society and the acceleration of urbanization, unhealthy lifestyles are prevalent among residents, the risk factors for stroke are increasingly exposed, and the incidence of stroke has risen sharply. The cause of stroke is also related to eating habits and daily routines. Hypertension and high blood lipids caused by salty smoking, overtime and high-calorie diets could have been reversed through a healthy lifestyle. This leads to the risk of stroke.
