Discussion Thread: Writing Qualitative Research Reports
Write a discussion thread post of at least 750 words, you must support your assertions

th edition format. Any sources cited must have
been published within the last five years and be U.S. sources. Acceptable sources
include the course textbook, peer-reviewed journal articles, or government reports.
You have been requested by the Institutional Review Board at Liberty University
to justify your study using a qualitative research design. You have selected the
use of focus groups with 12 participants in each of two groups. Address how you
will protect the human subject participants in your study. Consider the following
issues:
• informed consent,
• voluntary participation,
• confidentiality,
• mitigation of risks,
• maintenance and security of all data and materials,
• use of audio/video,
• participant’s right to drop out of study, and
• deception/coercion.
Overview
In this module, you will learn about the process and format for a qualitative research
report including protection of human subjects. You will also learn some key terms used
qualitative research: trustworthiness, rigor, transparency, dependability, transferability,
and confirmability.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to:
• Outline specific concerns to help frame a qualitative report.
• Explain the differences between a quantitative research report and qualitative
research report.
• Discuss qualitative reliability (trustworthiness, rigor, transparency, credibility,
transferability, dependability, and confirmability).
