New Testament Letter Analysis
Required resources: Textbook: Jesus Christ and the New Testament (use page numbers), the Bible (use scripture citation).
Optional resources: appropriate internet pages.
Parenthetical citations must be used. Add a page for links to websites used.
• Example from textbook: Paul writes to his friend Philemon and asks him to welcome back his former slave as a free man and brother in Christ (Jesus Christ and the New Testament, p. 283).
o After first time citing text, you may abbreviate with page only: (p. 283)
• Example from Bible: Paul says to Philemon, “I prefer to appeal to you on the basis of love” (Phil 1:9)
• Example from internet: The letter to Philemon is very short but it helps us understand some social situations of the day (Catholic News Agency).
