Objective: Explain the concept of renewing the mind from a Christian Theist perspective.
Mindset: Appreciate how daily renewal of the mind counters the inroads of competing worldviews.
Instructions
We learned in Week One that a worldview is a set of presuppositions about the world in which we live, including presuppositions about reality, truth, knowledge, and value.
A Christian worldview is simply a set of presuppositions about the world in which we live that is biblically grounded: beliefs about reality, truth, knowledge, and value that come from the teachings of Scripture. If you embrace this worldview, you are called to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).
Read Romans 12:1-2.
Write a 2-3 page paper discussing how to develop a Christian mind. Ensure the following points are addressed.
Give at least three examples of “patterns of this world” that contradict Christian/biblical thinking.
Explain what it means to “renew your mind.”
List at least three practical ways you can renew your mind.
Quote and cite at least two scholarly sources in your paper.
Ensure that you use the Paper Writing rubric to guide your efforts and apply the required formatting style.
