1. 1) Discuss one of the ethical principles (e.g., Kant’s Categorical Imperative, Mill’s Principle of Utility), or one of the case studies (e.g., invasion of privacy, conflict of interest) that we discussed and impressed you the most: How does it specifically impress you and why? (Your discussion must include a definition of the principles/values involved.) – 20 pts
2. 2) Possible changes on you and your thinking: Do you begin to apply or think of certain ethical principles/values or case studies we discussed in when you face some ethical issues in your daily life? If so, what changes are taking place on you after you took the course? Illustrate this with one or two examples. Can you envision what impact this course could have on you and your future career upon graduation? – 10% (Note: Discussion – 10 pts, Example(s) – 10 pts)
3. 3) Read the article “Ethics in the Classroom” by Jeff South and discuss your understanding of learning news media ethics at school: Do you agree that “ethics has ‘essential place’ in J- schools” (South, 2004)? Why is it important to learn it at school?
